The Lakeside Fire Protection District values its connection with the community and is happy to offer station tours and school visits. These are great opportunities for community members to get a personal experience with the firefighters and learn about daily activities, services, equipment and much more.
Station Tours
Station tours are offered at any of our four fire stations. Visitors will receive a guided tour of the station to see where the firefighters eat, sleep, study and train while on-duty. Visitors will also have the opportunity to get a hands-on demonstration of the firefighting equipment, fire engine and paramedic ambulance.
To schedule a station tour, please fill out our station tour request form.
School Visits / Community Events
The Lakeside Fire District welcomes opportunities to partner with schools, businesses, and organizations for public safety and community events. A typical visit will consist of a fire engine coming to the event site with firefighters providing a brief safety lecture followed by a hands-on demonstration of their protective gear and equipment. Students will also get an opportunity to tour the fire engine and even sit in the driver’s seat.We are unable to accommodate private gatherings and events of any kind, including birthday parties.
Please note that we receive a high volume of requests for fire engine visits and not all requests can be accommodated due to the limited slots available.
To schedule a school visit or community event, please fill out our school visit/community event request form.
Due to the fact that school visits are conducted while on-duty, they are limited only to schools within the Lakeside Fire Protection District. If your school is not within our district, we can provide you with the contact information of the fire department that serves your area.
